Our work in Barrowfield in Glasgow has taken a fascinating turn since organising a fact finding trip to Derry. Learning from the community mediation in Ireland has resulted in the ground breaking 'Camlachie Partnership' bringing local residents, politicians and support agencies together to tackle the issues facing a community living next to Celtic Park and the new Commonwealth Games Velodrome.
In December 2011, the Comrie Development Trust announced an exciting joint venture to create a data centre at the former nuclear bunker at Cultybraggan Army Camp. This takes their plans for the 96 acres of land at Cultybraggan Army Camp to a whole new level with the prospect of high speed broadband to attract new investors and benefit their community. Alan leads on this projet as volunteer board member of the Trust.
Just how do you successfully facilitate a workshop with 150 people and make it enjoyable, productive and just a bit different? Along with colleagues Simon Pepper and Simon Hooton this is exactly what Alan achieved on the second day of this years CCF Gathering in Glasgow.
