Following the Scottish Government’s announcement of a climate emergency, Alan worked alongside Mike Robinson the Chief Executive of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS) and colleague Jess Pepper to design and deliver this series of events.

The Climate Change Summits provide a space for motivated people from across the sectors to come together in a safe and open workshop environment.  These facilitated sessions are designed to use the collective expertise of participants to highlight purposeful actions, good practice examples and to influence policy making.

So far we have held Summits on:

Summit One
Shaping the change - building the world we want to see

Summit Two
Financing the transition

Summit Three
Nature Based Solutions

Summit Four
Construction

Summit Five
Coronavirus and a Green Recovery

Summit Six
Food

Summit Seven
Procurement

Summit Eight
Land

Summit Nine
Transport

The reports from each workshop highlight the main solutions  and are circulated to government, ministers and participants. A final protocol document focusing on the main solutions across the topics will be sent to the Scottish Government and COP26 participants in November 2021.

For our latest Summit we published a mind map and are currently working on our first interactive report.
